Ok, so I have a Facebook page. I have "relationships" where I listed my husband, children and step children. If you know anything about Facebook "relationships", then you know that if you add a person, and they have their own Facebook page, you cannot list them as a "relation" until they confirm that relation.
There is no category for "step children." I listed my step daughter Gillian as a "daughter" since there was no "step" option. Her "real" mother got the request. I've sent it probably ten times, thinking Gillian was ignoring me. Her mother was deleting the request and not letting Gillian accept it, nor telling her about it!
My problem with whole thing is: how can anyone be so controlling as to force me to NOT list MY step children on MY own Facebook page??? There has to be a way around this. I should be able to list my relations as I see fit. It is MY Facebook page, not hers. It is MY life, not hers. She has no right or responsibility to make me list who SHE thinks I should list as relations. How does one respond to this kind of demand?
I have removed both girls from my relationships in my profile. I have deleted every picture of them I have posted for others to see. I was so proud to have gained two more children when I married my love. Now, because of the ex-wife, I am not allowed to show off my "children" and profess my love for them or my pride in them for what they do and accomplish.
There should be no such thing as "step" allowed when we have blended families. We do not call African Americans nigger anymore. Well, I feel as though "step" is just as ugly as the "n" word. It degrades the "step" person, makes them feel less than worthy of being called "daughter", "mom", "dad", "brother", "sister", whatever.
This world is changing, and as far as I can see, not for the better. Now we not only have people with Bachelor's degrees, Master's degrees, and Doctorate's degrees that are so stupid they can't even hold a conversation, but we have people dictating to others who they can list as relatives on their Facebook page. This is absolutely ridiculous. We have people in government that cannot even imagine what is going on in a "normal" persons life, so they raise taxes, increase the national debt, and take much needed programs away from those that need it, then there are people who have nothing better to do than be upset because someone else loves their child like he/she is their own.
Why wouldn't a parent want another person to love their children like he/she was their own? More "parents" loving children is a good thing. It takes a whole village to raise one child...not just one person.
If anyone knows of a way around this I would appreciate any advice on this subject...

I Know What I'm Going to do Today!!
School is done for the day, Ebay is selling items later tonight. I guess it is time to get moving! I'm going to finish up a bunch of stuff that I've put off over the last eight weeks. On Monday, Khloe and Natalie will be coming to stay with me while Mom works. Yep, she has to go back to work on Monday.
I hope I can take care of both of them at the same time. It will be a challenge, to say the least! A one year old and a six week old. This will prove interesting!
Don't forget to check out my Photo Du Jour blog for pictures each day. They will be filled with Natalie and Khloe, Frankie, Jewels, and Emmie antics, I'm sure!

What Should I Do When I Grow Up?
So now I'm enrolled in an online university. I've taken two blocks of classes, on week 4 of my third block of classes. I'm carrying a 4.0 gpa. My major is accounting. I'm also taking an 8 week tax preparation course, and have a guaranteed seasonal, part-time job with Jackson-Hewitt Tax Services (providing I pass the course). What should I do when I grow up?
I've always wanted to be a teacher. Ever since I was little, I would teach my dolls. I would line them up in a row. I had a chalkboard and lots of chalk. I would put math problems on the board. I would teach them math, spelling, and anything I felt like teaching.
I also excel at math. Not in my head, mind you, but on paper. I just get numbers. Some people don't get numbers, but I do.
Now, my problem. Do I continue with the accounting degree, get my bachelor's, then sit for the CPA exam? They make great money! I could open my own business. That's what I want to do, ultimately.
Or, do I change majors and move towards teaching elementary or middle school students? I do not think I could deal with high school students. They are rude and obnoxious, like most adults today. The time off would be awesome. Look at all the times schools have off! And having summers off would be great, too! Would I be able to teach children? Do I have the patience? Teachers are not paid that well, but their benefits are great, time off is great, the hours aren't too bad. There will be grading all those papers and stuff. Parent Teacher conferences. I just do not know if I could be a teacher.
This is something I have to look into. Maybe check my local school and see if they will give me a tour, maybe let me observe for a day. I doubt they will let me do that, but I can call and ask.
If I go on with the associates in Accounting, I can get a job with just an associates degree. I can then work on my bachelor's and possibly have the tuition paid for by my employer. There are many tax breaks and free money for those going into teaching. I could possibly have my tuition paid for now. Teaching, however, requires being hired by a school district, then you have to be a substitute teacher until a permanent spot opens up. Can I teach various subjects?
I will have to call my academic adviser at school and talk to her. I'll have to see what she thinks.
This is a very big decision I need to make. I just don't think I have the patience to teach. Sometimes I just want to pull my hair out and run away screaming like a school girl!
Any thoughts?

Mobely is Gone
Hello. Today is a sad day. Our eldest guinea pig died last night. I was not home, but when Doug got home he heard struggling coming from the cage. He tried to help Mo up, but Mo was just too weak. Mo laid in his cage and died after many years of being our friend.
I must bury him today beside our cat, Gizmo. She left us last year.
Lester is still in his cage, eating, drinking, and wondering why Mo left him. Mo was his best friend. They talked, played, and even had arguments sometimes. But when Lester would give us grief about wanting to pick him up, or clean his cage, Mo was right there "squealing" to him to settle down and behave. Mo was always telling Les to behave so we could take care of him. I'm not sure how Les is going to be now. He has never been alone before.
Now, you ask, why all the sadness over a little guinea pig? Well, not that I'm all that happy about having two of these critters in my house, constantly changing the bedding, feeding, watering, clipping nails, giving treats, making sure they have their Vitamin C (guinea pigs need lots of Vitamin C to stay healthy) and all the other care needed to take care of these critters, but Mo was special. Anytime you wanted, you could reach in and just rub his cheek if you wanted. He loved to have his cheeks rubbed. He did not bite or run away liked a scaredy cat. He let you pick him up, love him, bathe him, cut his nails, anything you wanted really.
So, am I going to replace Mo? No way! We have been trying to find them a good home for over five years now. We are temporarily fostering these guys until we find a good home. Yeah, right! I'm afraid if I give them to somebody, they will feed them to their snake! Lake Tobias will take them for their petting zoo, but cannot guarantee me they will not end up as snake food! Yeah, not so much!
We're going to wait and see how Lester does being alone. If he starts to get sick, then we'll do something, but until then, we'll just keep trying to get him to let us pet him, hold him and love him. You know what the real kicker is? I'm allergic to them! That's right. One of the most non-allergenic pets a family can have, and I'm allergic. It's not toxic, does not making breathing hard, but when I hold them, I itch for an hour where ever their fur touches me.
Frank had a difficult time of it last night, and isn't much better this morning. He was in here listening to Mo's last few feeble cries before death. Once I came in and petted Mo for the last time, Frank could feel the sadness in the room. He just laid on the couch, tail unwound, and just looked at me like, "I know you are sad. So am I. Now what do we do?" I just hugged him and told him it would be all right in a few days. Doug and I both know Frank was feeling sad because Doug ate some chicken in the kitchen. Emmie and Jewels were right there to catch anything that fell on the floor. Frank just laid in here on the couch and watched. He did not even move or attempt to move to go to the kitchen for a tasty treat.
Frank is our pug. Pugs have curly tails. When their tail is uncurled, they are either, sick, sad, or sleeping. Those are the only times pugs tails come uncurled. Well, Frank's tail was uncurled most of the evening. Poor little guy. I'll have him help me bury Mo later. That might make him feel better. To help and to say goodbye.
No more animals will ever come into this house! I'm not liking the love I give to them, then they leave me. It is just too hard. No more animals...

Rude Obnoxious People
So, can anyone tell me why people are so rude in today's world? My goodness, you are minding your own business, you are walking down an aisle at a MAJOR department store, and WHAM! Someone bumps into you! Did they say excuse me? Did they try to move and avoid hitting you? NO! They are rude! I've made up my mind I refuse to move out of anyone's way anymore. I will plow them over! If, and only if, they make an attempt to get out of my way, then I will move, but only if they make the attempt first.
Why do people think I should move out of there way? What's that all about? There are exceptions, those being: 1) a mother pushing a child in a stroller. Sometimes they cannot move out of the way. and 2) a person in a wheelchair. My mother was in a wheel chair for many years. Not all times could she get out of someone's way. But the rude people! The would hit her with their packages, bump her chair, make snide remarks about her being in their way. One time we were Christmas shopping after Thanksgiving and my mother ended up in tears! Yes, that's right! The people were so rude she was crying! I vowed that day she would never go shopping after Thanksgiving and she never did!
Why do people have to be rude? What happened to everyone being kind and at least smiling at one another? Sometimes I wish we could go back to the 50's and 60's when life was a bit slower, more mellow, and less stressful.
I challenge my readers. Next time you are out, try smiling at just three people. Just any three people, and they cannot be children. Children will smile at anyone. Choose a person that is scowling, or just mean looking. Try to wipe the frown off their face. See what happens. You just might be surprised!
Try to have fun with this challenge. Let me know what you see...until next time! See YA!

Pugs Tales
Hi, everyone...well, me, since no one knows I'm out here...
Let me talk about Frankie today. You see, he is my Pug...he is 3 years old. He is bull headed. I leave him out and he doesn't want to come back in.
Ok, so I leave him out there for a while, go back to check on him, and he is still futzing around the yard.
The yard is fenced, so don't go postal on me leaving a Pug outside alone. We all know they will wander away and not even realize they are gone until they try to come back inside to their pack. They love everyone and everything. A fence is the only way to keep them safe.
Is your Pug protective of you and your other dogs? Mine sure is. He would never bite, but he always puts himself between me and the offender. He always pushes my oldest dog out of the way and yelps and barks at her. She is the alpha (so she thinks) and she yelps and barks back at him. I swear it sounds like they are killing each other. Even if I just go to the mailbox. He forgets it is me and starts knocking Jewels down telling her to get back.
The Pug is great. His name is officially Franklin Otis. His cinnamon bun tail almost flies off his back sometimes. He is loving, caring, and gentle. I have a 1 year old granddaughter. When she was learning to walk, he would stand still, she would grab his skin, pull herself up and stand there whacking him on his back. Once he even looked at me like, "Mom, can you help me out please?" So, he very slowly (and I mean, slow-motion slowly) turned, making sure she still had her balance, then slowly walked away. When Khloe realized she was no longer holding on, she flopped to her butt. He looked at her, then me, as if to say, "Uh, that wasn't me, swear to God!"
She scared him once. It was hilarious. He was sleeping on the underneath of our coffee table. She came up behind him, grabbed his tail and yanked! He got up, and was running for his life, but his feet were just slipping on the coffee table. It was so funny, she had a good grip on him. Did he turn around and snip at her or growl? Nope. He just got away, looked at me, like, "What the heck was that all about?", then went to sleep where she couldn't reach him. They are buddies.
Do you have a Pug? If you do, I would love to hear about him or her.
Have a great day!

So, President O wants health care insurance reform. I agree, but how do we get it? The Prez is saying he wants health care insurance mandatory for all people. That's good. Why not structure health care insurance similar to automotive insurance? There can be levels of coverage, just like auto insurance. The only difference would be that health care would have to be more comprehensive than auto insurance. We could take a health insurance policy that covers everything, then break that down into levels. No one has gone broke because they have to buy auto insurance. There are many different auto insurance companies out there with relatively the same coverages, all at different prices. Why not health insurance? Make health insurance companies lower the prices so that everyone can afford it. (Similar to auto insurance.)
This is not rocket science. How I see it is health insurance companies are greedy. They want all the money they can soak out of the American public. Health care providers are greedy. They also want all the money they can get from Americans. Hello!!! We need to regulate what providers charge. I've read so many articles where providers charge different amounts of money for the same procedure based on if the patient is insured, not insured, or paying cash. I don't know about everyone out there, but I cannot afford to go to the doctor, even for a mole that I know needs removed. I have insurance, but I cannot afford the yearly deductible.
Has anyone involved in health care insurance reform discussed covering hearing services? They have discussed vision care, dental care, prescriptions, and health care, but I've not heard a word about hearing services. My current insurance does not cover a visit to a hearing specialist, hearing tests, or hearing aids. I am not deaf, but have difficulty hearing, and it can jeopardize any job that I may apply for, can impair my driving, and a host of other problems. We need to be able to see and hear to live. We really need help with hearing services.
Can anyone help us on this?
