Pugs Tales

Hi, everyone...well, me, since no one knows I'm out here...

Let me talk about Frankie today. You see, he is my Pug...he is 3 years old. He is bull headed. I leave him out and he doesn't want to come back in.

Ok, so I leave him out there for a while, go back to check on him, and he is still futzing around the yard.

The yard is fenced, so don't go postal on me leaving a Pug outside alone. We all know they will wander away and not even realize they are gone until they try to come back inside to their pack. They love everyone and everything. A fence is the only way to keep them safe.

Is your Pug protective of you and your other dogs? Mine sure is. He would never bite, but he always puts himself between me and the offender. He always pushes my oldest dog out of the way and yelps and barks at her. She is the alpha (so she thinks) and she yelps and barks back at him. I swear it sounds like they are killing each other. Even if I just go to the mailbox. He forgets it is me and starts knocking Jewels down telling her to get back.

The Pug is great. His name is officially Franklin Otis. His cinnamon bun tail almost flies off his back sometimes. He is loving, caring, and gentle. I have a 1 year old granddaughter. When she was learning to walk, he would stand still, she would grab his skin, pull herself up and stand there whacking him on his back. Once he even looked at me like, "Mom, can you help me out please?" So, he very slowly (and I mean, slow-motion slowly) turned, making sure she still had her balance, then slowly walked away. When Khloe realized she was no longer holding on, she flopped to her butt. He looked at her, then me, as if to say, "Uh, that wasn't me, swear to God!"

She scared him once. It was hilarious. He was sleeping on the underneath of our coffee table. She came up behind him, grabbed his tail and yanked! He got up, and was running for his life, but his feet were just slipping on the coffee table. It was so funny, she had a good grip on him. Did he turn around and snip at her or growl? Nope. He just got away, looked at me, like, "What the heck was that all about?", then went to sleep where she couldn't reach him. They are buddies.

Do you have a Pug? If you do, I would love to hear about him or her.

Have a great day!

So, President O wants health care insurance reform. I agree, but how do we get it? The Prez is saying he wants health care insurance mandatory for all people. That's good. Why not structure health care insurance similar to automotive insurance? There can be levels of coverage, just like auto insurance. The only difference would be that health care would have to be more comprehensive than auto insurance. We could take a health insurance policy that covers everything, then break that down into levels. No one has gone broke because they have to buy auto insurance. There are many different auto insurance companies out there with relatively the same coverages, all at different prices. Why not health insurance? Make health insurance companies lower the prices so that everyone can afford it. (Similar to auto insurance.)

This is not rocket science. How I see it is health insurance companies are greedy. They want all the money they can soak out of the American public. Health care providers are greedy. They also want all the money they can get from Americans. Hello!!! We need to regulate what providers charge. I've read so many articles where providers charge different amounts of money for the same procedure based on if the patient is insured, not insured, or paying cash. I don't know about everyone out there, but I cannot afford to go to the doctor, even for a mole that I know needs removed. I have insurance, but I cannot afford the yearly deductible.

Has anyone involved in health care insurance reform discussed covering hearing services? They have discussed vision care, dental care, prescriptions, and health care, but I've not heard a word about hearing services. My current insurance does not cover a visit to a hearing specialist, hearing tests, or hearing aids. I am not deaf, but have difficulty hearing, and it can jeopardize any job that I may apply for, can impair my driving, and a host of other problems. We need to be able to see and hear to live. We really need help with hearing services.

Can anyone help us on this?
